This is a bilingual camp for young people who love music, rhythm and movement. This camp is offered,
run and managed by La petite fanfare music school in Chelsea. With a team of qualified and dynamic teachers
and counsellors, the goal of the camp is to conclude with the production of an original musical comedy.
From beginners to prodigies, young musicians can blossom at La petite fanfare Music Camp and have fun
at the same time.
Since it was established in 2005, La petite fanfare has made a name for itself as a provider of quality music teaching in the heart of Chelsea. The music camp aims to continue this tradition.
Two weeks of camp, including instrument lessons and childcare service: $499.
La petite fanfare music camp in Chelsea is a bilingual day camp for children
aged 5 to 12. Your child will develop his or her taste for music and improve his or
her instrumental abilities. Held at Chelsea Elementary School on Old Chelsea Road, La petite fanfare music camp will provide a positive, creative and safe learning environment.
Beginner musicians: the child explores the instrument of his or her choice and will master the basics by the end of the camp. She will take part in small-group workshops. The instruments are provided by the camp but cannot be taken home.
Experienced musicians: children who already play will bring their instrument to camp and continue their instruction there. This instruction will be in the form of private lessons for small groups of instrumentalists at the same ability level, and musical creativity in which the child will develop his or her talent, improvise and perform.
While beginners are welcome, children who already have some knowledge of music can also continue and expand their learning with qualified music teachers.
Each day, professional musicians will put on a mini show for us. This gives them a chance to discover their instrument and to find inspiration in the talents they will share with us.
Exceptional teachers and staff and rich and varied activities mean that the camp can allow each child to explore and express his or her own creativity. Each two-week session will conclude with the staging of a musical comedy for parents and friends. All the children will participate in the show. The camp’s regular activities will be geared to producing this musical comedy and include instrumental music, choir, dance and rhythm, and theatre. Physical activities and games will be held outside or in the gym when the weather is bad.
Each day, all children will work on their sense of rhythm in dance workshops. They will also discover their inner singer through choral singing workshops. These workshops will teach breathing technique and voice placement. They will also learn the songs that will be presented in the musical comedy show at the end of camp.
Let’s not forget that summer is vacation time. We’ll play outside every day. We have the schoolyard all to ourselves! We’ll try to integrate rhythm, dance and music. Music really is fun!
